Default Need a guestimate from the pros!

I didn't really thing this was JDM.. or forced induction.. and it COULD be a product inquery, so if it needs to be moved, feel free to do so!

Anyways, at the end of the month I will be doing an intake mani build up.. or kind of? I've got a spare intake manifold that I'm port matching/polishing to a 70mm TB, and then slapping on the Hondata IMG while I'm in that area.

Can I expect anything reasonable from this?

I'm NA with I/E/Vtec controller untuned.

Thanks in advance!

-Aaron

which i/h/e are you running? If you port match properly and tune, you should definitely see some improvements. You're not going to be blown away, but your car will be smoother. The hondata alone made a nice difference in my car.

IMG = Intake manifold gasket, it keeps the manifold from getting super hot.. and we all know, cooler, denser air = more hp (or less heatsoak, whatever)

(not to sound like a dick) i wish for once you would just shut up. you have a nice car, but you know nothing about tuning. there is no need for you to dump in every thread and pop in with some stupid comment about something you have NO expience or knowledge of.

with I/E and a good vafc tune you can expect(overall gain) 10-15 at the wheels. even more in the midrange up to 20whp around 8-9k, look at a dyno sheet you can see that the s2k pics up power under 5k and over 8k with a typical setup. see sig for further details...

With an untuned VTEC controller, you won't gain any power. Even if you made it to where VTEC kicks in sooner, you experiance a dip in power.

After you do your intake manifold mod, make sure you get that VTEC controller tuned properly.

This biggest myth about the VTEC controller is instant power by moving back the engagement point. Most people neglect to realize that your ECU's af map is tuned properly for the stock VTEC engagement point, and that by tricking the VTEC solinoid to engage, you're getting improper af mix, resulting in loss of power, possibly even detination....

Just some food for thought.....
