whats up guys,

ok, This is the second time this crap happens to me. the only thing I noticed this time is that the car was cold. I was leaving my job and decided to step on my car and haul ass home. except that when my car hit about 6k rpm the car stalled. kinda felt like a fuel cut on my old GSX. has this happend to any one? What the hell can be causing this? im new to the s2000 world and dont know what the heck it could be. my car has 34000 miles

 

cold car has vtec cut off to protect the engine from going to the other cam. You have to wait for the engine to warm to use vtec.

 

The car does that bc its not warmed up to 3 bars , wait till its warmed up to at least 2 , 3 bars and then it wont happen , its a safety feature on all s2ooo's , if it didnt do that then allot worse could happen to your car . Nothing is wrong with your car so dont worry , its happened to me before also . This topic has been discussed allot on this board.

 

but does the vtec cutoff cause the the car to stall or just keeps vtec from kicking in?

 

WTF STALL??? use the right terminology please!! you hit fuel cut off and it forces the RPMs to drop down to a safe level. There is nothing wrong with your car.
