i would get a daily driver. something good enough to please but common enough to use with confidence around town. something you can park anywhere and it will be there when you get back.

if you are at all interested in any of this you will have at least a couple of vehicles after graduation. establish a good reliable base to start. and also buy the s2000.

its odd how things change:
i really like my ap1 but now find my self more interested in a new bikey. my new priority is a 2008 r1 right now. i am a functional rider and would more enjoy the bike.

i have a daily driver that i like and will keep forever. where it is not a fast car i like the style of it and gets great gas milage.

if feeling the need i can pick something else in the garage any day i want.

My biggest regret in getting the S is that I turned it into a daily driver because I liked driving it so much. It starts to become very stressful worrying about some dipshit dinging your door or some idiot bumping into you while parallel parking. I'm sick of trying to dodge rocks and potholes, and when I do hit bumps it is annoys me A LOT. If you will be driving that thing daily on those terrible roads, it will take a toll on you and your car. The interior will become a rattle box and chances are with the bad roads you will have tons of rockchips. Just some things to think about.

I'm sort of in a similar situation. Graduated last year with my BS and have been working full-time in a professional position for nearing one year. I live at home and want an AP2 desperately, but will end up sinking pretty much everything I've earned since leaving school on the car and hardtop.

On the surface, it's a stupid move. It's an expensive (especially with mods) and impractical toy to invest into at such a young age. And I don't care.

Thinking about the future is good, but you only live once. If it's something you love, you'll figure out a way to make it work.

My fun starts in the spring when I plan to purchase an 05 or 06. Best of luck in whatever direction you choose.

During college (1998-20002 or so), I was obsessed with the 1995 Camaro Z28. I finally saved up enough money to make a sizable downpayment and qualify to finance the rest (as I had no credit history back at the time).
You spent 18,004 years in college? Damn! I didn't think it'd take that long to buy a Camaro. Your job must've sucked.

There's a whole forum for wheels and tires that you can refer to. Definitely do some more research. There's plenty of info already in these forums to help you out.
