need help, K&n FIPK 2 or PRM intake ?
Hi everyone,
I have been reading for hours about the different intakes available. I did come down to 2 options. K&n FIPK 2 or PRM intake
I have decided not to go for CAI, I wanted to go AEM V2 but the I don't want to cut any plastic and remove my bumper everytime I need to clean the filter Hydrolocking stories are also a turn off
Now, can anyone help me decide . I know K&N has been around for a while and they make good products but apparently the sound of PRM is amazing.
Please help me out

i wouldn't much say that the comptech gives more that much more performance to justify the price. The k&n is about $245 shipped and the are independent dyno tests that prove 8 hp. The comptech is $369 and comptech says you only gain 5hp. Plus you get the million mile warranty with k&n. I myself was in the same situation you are in and went with the k&n, i love the sound its just plain evil. Trust me go with the k&n, you won't be dissapointed.
p.s. you can pm me if you have any more ?'s

I second the K&N option...i put mine in about a month ago and i love it. I noticed some power gains from 5500 to 7500 (actually noticable in driving) and the sound is awesome. Go for it...

The design of the K&N just seems too sketchy. I don't like that the hood is used to seal the top of the box.
I haven't seen any "independent" dyno tests on the K&N - only the ones on their site. To be honest, I trust Comptech's numbers a lot more than I do K&N's (Honda tuner comparied to a general tuner).

The K&N FIPK used to be called the AirCharger. I think you can pull up some more info on it using that name too in 'Search'. I have one too and really love it.
It is a matter of point of view when it come to 'Honda' tuner vs 'General Tuner'. Everyone knows K&N makes great filters, and I bet they have a few more research $$$ too.
