i think both will offer good sound because they expose the filter more. i would guess the kn would have less engine bog from heat since it isolates more. the prm is more pretty though.
consider the filter type too. i believe the cotton gauge is better than the foam type of comptech and i think prm uses foam too.
kn comes preoiled. no guessing.
comptech you are paying for the looks(carbon fiber lid) and less chance of void warranty.

I had the prm great sound easy install no increase in hp .Now i have the comptech love the look setup increase throttle responce .As far as hp is concerned my butt say maybe some increase .My good friend just got the k&n and likes it but he also advised 9 hp increase is a just not true . I'm very impressed with people who can notice a 5 hp difference out of 240 hp without a dyno i guess they have a 6 th sense.

I installed the K&N in December and posted pics and info on the install at https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...f=133&t=256141
A former S2K owner with screen name of 850 did dyno runs with the K&N back to back within 20 minutes of each other on the same car. The posts from 850 dyno runs stock, with airbox lid off and with the K&N. Kind of confirms independently that there are gains but less than 9.5hp listed earier by K&N. Still impressive though for a simple intake change.
Without OEM lid Hp: 197.3
Without lid Torque: 132.5
Stock Wheel Hp is : 199.8
Stock Torque is: 134.4
K/N System Hp is: 204.4
K/N system Torque: 141.0

It is an easy install and is completely reversible in about 30 minutes if needed. If I sell or trade the car I will probably take it off.
The sound of the intake is incredible, for nothing more it is worth it for me. It is a lower growl instead of the howl that you get when you remove the OEM airbox lid and really sounds great when in VTEC (it does howl a bit in VTEC, but with a really pleasant sound). I had expected an improvment in sound, but this is much better than I expected and a real plesant surprise.
The FIPK makes the S2000 sound like it should have stock and although I have no scientific data, the throttle response also seems to be much better, although it may be the placebo effect at play and for now I am very happy with the results.
