Greetings,
I've recently been given an opportunity to work in the UK for 6 months. I'll only be back in the states for 2 weeks during my "tour" over there. I'll be boxing all my stuff and putting it in storage, along with the car. I'll try to find an air-conditioned storage space for my beloved stook.
I've searched the board for tips on long-term storage, but I don't think there are a set of definitive suggestions.
Here's what I've collected thus far:
-Fresh oil/filter
-Disconnect/remove battery
-Up on jacks
-Fill tires to 20 psi
-Cloth cover
-Top up
-Windows cracked
Since I won't be around to start the car every few weeks, would it be best to empty the gas tank? Use fuel stabilizer?
Should I get the radiator flushed? Empty the washer fluid? What about the other fluids?
Also, I have a few thousand left on my car note. Are there ways to cut my insurance during the storage?
