Need help with RickS2K.com

Default Need help with RickS2K.com

Well I hate doing this, but maybe this way i can get a response to my question. I ordered from RickS2K.com a voodoo shift knob on jan 9th 2009, with an anticipation of receiving my item no later then 2 weeks (as posted on the site). I waited patiently for 2 weeks and nothing, no emails or product. I then preceded to contact ricks2k.com though the information on the site with 2 emails and no responses. If was only after some more investigation on my part that i found this site, joined and made a posting that someone finally contacted me. After expressing my disappointment to rick about this turn around time and that there should be something on his site about the delay (knowing it was on back order) he offered to refund my money. I told him i had heard great things about the product and had already waited this long, i would wait some more. He told me 2 more weeks and i said thats fine. well ladies and gents it has been more then 2 weeks (a month in total now of waiting) and still no knob or return to my PM or email'S (yes more then 1) I just want the product i payed for,and was told would be delivered. is that so much to ask for? maybe some customer service that would follow up on something? IDK maybe its me, but has anyone else had this problem?

Did you get custom engraving?

I ordered a knob from him about 2 years ago or so and was delivered within a week.

I was in a similar situation where they didn't notify me that the knob was on back-order. However I contacted them and he replied within the day explaining it was on back order and that I'd get the knob in 5-10 days. Their customer service was good and they promptly answered all of my questions and viola, it showed up in the stated time frame. I have only heard good things about Rick as well, strange you are having this problem but good luck and hope you get your knob!

no custom engraving, just a simple pearl alum. knob. and i heard great things 2, i just want this to get resolved! and thanks for the welcome

For the record.I got an PM and e-mail at 10 AM today (CST) This is the first chance I have had to logon to the board. You have got to allow for some time for us to reply.

Part of the problem here is that the e-mail address he entered on his order was wrong. It is GMail.com not GMal.com. So that explains why he did not see any of the e-mail updates that go out when we have an item back ordered. So there went our proactive process.

And whats the other part? You should have received his correct one since he emailed you, right? If not, you did not bring it up while you were able to get in touch with him? Regardless, wouldn't anyone know gmal.com was originally meant to be gmail.com in an order form? Yet I assume you have automated messages, but very fixable since you would usually get some sort of notification of rejected emails which would require you to check the email addresses? So I believe he did allow time for you to answer his concerns, 2 weeks is very much so sufficient.



This is not directly targeted to you Rick's Accessories, but I just find it funny when customers are not able to get a hold of a business of some sort, and when they post it in the forum the business is active in, they get a relatively faster response time... ( Again, this is in general, I'm giving Rick's accessories the benefit of the doubt and they just never got any of the notifications.)

(In general) If you make an honest mistake, just apologize. I think its ridiculous Ricks seem to be blaming the mishap on the customer's typing error as a reason for a 2 week wait (because of the backorder), and then another 2 weeks wait without any updates. If the wrong email address was quite the ordeal, it should have been brought up when you did get in touch with the customer. If you're going to make a customer wait, or if an item is on back order, just LET THE CUSTOMER know. I hate it when the it happens to me, ESPECIALLY when I get no answer back when I attempt to make contact. I get into paranoia mode...

This is my useless ramble, I don't know the details, but its my 2 cents.

Im interested in your brushed aluminum voodoo shift knob (no engraving), are they available on hand? Thanks.

FYI, not blaming anything on anything. Just pointing out a few facts.

I wanted to point out that we could have been proactive if the e-mail address was right in the first place. Normally it is the first few weeks that piss a customer off that they don't hear from us. After you lost that ground it is hard to recover no mater how hard you try.

You said "If you're going to make a customer wait, or if an item is on back order, just LET THE CUSTOMER know"

We have to get his e-mail from them on the order to do that.

We use the e-mail address on the order as you entered it to communicate with the customer. Updates of the shipping status, back order etc. Requests for status are replied to the sent e-mail.

For the record, I just ordered something from Rick's and it showed up in no time flat! Btw the smoked sidemarkers are fantastic and can't wait to get them on the car if this goddam new england winter ever breaks.

Thanks, Some orders we hit out of the park and others we strike out badly. On the bad ones, we strike out REALLY badly. Or atleast that is the way I see it when it happen.

i am not pointing fingers or trying to start a flaming tread, if i made an error, my mistake and i will accept that, but i know for a fact that you have my email correct because i have an exchange of emails between me and you, as well as me and rick. I also just received your email, and rick still hasnt emailed me. If you could please help me out jeff and let me know what is going on i would really appreciate it. thank you again for your time and i hope to hear from you soon.
