Default Need more power! Going to swap in this 565 HP I6...

Well, as much as I love the S2000, I've been swayed by all those who have never driven the car but swear it doesn't have enough torque (or horsepower for that matter). I found a nice turbocharged DOHC I6 and I think I can weasel it into the engine bay:

I'll post some more pics when I get it installed, followed by a few engine dynos and maybe some 1/4 times. Should be insanely fast! Here's some specs:

Cummins ISX-565
15.0 L (no replacement for displacement!)
565 HP @ 2000 RPM
1850 LB-ft @ 1200 RPM
Integrated engine brake for faster stops!
2640 lbs

P.S. For the humor impaired, it's a joke.

Actually, this engine is for class 8 tractors - the big ones with sleepers on them. The engine you're probably thinking of is "only" 5.9L and is rated at 245HP/505lb-ft

Silly Boy.

You tired of working on those big toys already. Looking for something else to do?

So hows its down south. Suppose to be near 50 up here. Pretty soon it'll be time for G-man. Can't wait.

Good to see your around.

Catch you soon.

Looks like a great conversion idea, WSB. Should shut those people who who say the S2000 doesn't have enough torque.

But I have a question...since this is a convertible, I'm concerned about the air conditioning. I don't see any brackets for a compressor on your new engine. What's the deal with that?!

I think you will be shortchanging yourself if you don't have AC as part of this conversion...what's going on here?! I think you are shortchanging us who are anxious to put a REAL powerplant in this car!

Where is the Cold Air Induction???
and I don't think there's a Strut Tower Brace out that will clear that engine!
Forget it, I don't want it anymore!

Isn't the Dodge Viper well on its way to an engine like this? Any bigger and I think Dodge could start contracting their crap out to battleships.

And by the way...even with 15.0 Liters...I think you should also consider forced induction and a dumptruck of NOS. You don't wanna get rocked by a Civic now...

I think you'll need taller gearing to compensate for what, a 3000rpm redline?
