Default Need New Clutch

hey all,
My clutch is wearing out on MY04. I was wondering what type of clutch came with the car. Also, what kind of clutch do you guys recommend me getting?

moving to S2000talk. general product questions go there.

Just get the OEM clutch, to replace your OEM clutch.

You'll find as many opinions on this as there are posters here. The following post is in a very lengthy thread that has to do with an aftermarket clutch that may have caused damage to other drivetrain components, resulting in some extended warranty issues:

Read the whole thread if you have time but the part that is relevent to this thread begins in the above link.
It doesn't answer any questions specifically, but is food for thought.

I'm just curious... How could the clutch be wearing out on a MY04? How many miles do you have on it?

I got an Exedy Hyper kit when my stocker started slipping. It is great once you get used to it, a bit grabby/heavy in traffic. Had it in now for almost 2 years and haven't experienced the slightest bit of slippage. Don't know if it will work with an '04 tho or if they have one for the '04.

I've had bad experience with Exedy units, with driveability and longevity.

I've had great success with ACT pressure plates. It is simply an OEM plate with additional holding power. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Hardtopguy.com has a kit that includes:

ACT pressure plate
Comptech Lightweight flywheel
OEM disc
OEM throwout bearing
OEM pilot bearing

I've installed many of these kits, in my own car as well. All have been running trouble free, including supercharged cars. I'm sure you can search and find many others that are happy with this setup as well.
