Need a new clutch, sadly enough
if anyone remembers, i had one instance where i started in 3rd (
) while going uphill, fried the clutch, and it's never been the same. Car had 12,000 miles on it at the time, now has 14,500. It never got any better, if anything it's slightly worse. It doesnt slip but getting it started in first gear is just amazingly, hard. The car feels like it has about 45lbs of torque. Out of first it's not so bad, but i get alot of clutch chatter.
So it's gone. I really didnt want to commit any $$$ to this car, i'm tired of modifying cars, but I want to prevent this clutch from ever going soft again.....SO:
For a comptech flywheel, OE disc, ACT pressure plate, new throwout bearing, it's $930.00, and thats not even with installation!
Can anyone possibly reccomend a reliable clutch that is not so much $$$ ? I remember paying less then $300.00 for my Exedy clutch (disc/pressure plate) it's just hard for me to justify $400.00 for a pressure plate....
