Is there a cassette tape in this radio? I see CHG TAPE right over the CD button.

(Just curious.)

Yeah, the 641 is the time. No cassette in the stereo. Looked through the manual and could not find anything.

Hi All,

I just got this 2005 S2k and has the "CODE" on the radio. I tried that radio off, press 1+6, turn key on, radio on and I get the following...
What is the radio code?
L 2693
U 4001

The radio has 1-6 keys... if the code is 2693 for example, how do I enter the "9" ?? It must be something else???

Okay so it turned out that the 1+6 combo key will give you the SN# instead of the actual code...
So my SN is 26934001

Went to the Honda site and got like 21 codes (when enter VIN and SN).. wth??

My radio serial number was on a small white sticker on the inside of the trunk lid. I guess I got lucky.
I just went to https://radio-navicode.honda.com/ and plugged in the radio serial and VIN and was emailed the code, which worked. I didn't know this was a thing until I changed out my battery Sunday.

I had to get the security code for a replacement OEM radio for my model year 2000 car. Call Honda America at (800) 999-1009, follow the prompts to speak with a tech specialist. Have your VIN and the radio serial number handy.

You can always put in a new head unit so you can stream Spotify/Pandora/your phone as well as radio. Never worry about a code again. You get the added benefit of way more watts to power the speakers.
You can get plug and play from Modifry and still use the dash controls. Control the lighting to match the car or whatever you want. You can always hide it behind the radio door. I hardly ever open mine anymore! Sony with 45 watts! Dope!

https://radio-navicode.honda.com/ gave me an error for a while until I truncated and cut off part of the serial, then re-entered. Just a tip. It worked for me in the end. I think I trimmed some digits/chars off the front to make it fit their character limit.

I was lucky enough to get everything with my S2000. The owners manual, with a separate one on the radio giving the code, plus every receipt for every thing spent on the car.

If the radio locks out, do I need to wait a period of time or pull 12V power to reset? I am hesitant to try the latter as I just got a new engine put in and am waiting for all the OBDII codes to clear so I can get a smog test; I'm unsure whether 12V pull resets the clock on some of the diagnostics.

Like another poster I got a looong list of codes from the Honda website... I went in order and the first 10 did not unlock the radio causing it to lock...
