Dragon - I'm sure you have your heart set on that blue car but don't settle for one that has some kind of damage. Most of us on this board obsess about a few miles on the cars when we pick them up and how those miles may have been driven.
IMO, buying a car that has been on a frame machine is like buying one with a salvage title thats been wrecked - don't do it, it will bother you the whole time you own the car ruining the ownership experieince.

Unless you can get it for a salvage price, then I wouldn't mind...

Don't do it man. Ask them politely to check other dealer's for a Suzuka. If they can't locate one, take your deposit and find one yourself. I'm sure there are a few for sale in surrounding states. Don't settle for a dmg'd car, and also don't settle for a color you don't want. We're talkin $30k here, and you deserve a perfect s2k in the color of your choice. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Rather than buying a new blue s2k that had been impacted or stressed so hard that it's tough X frame and unibody are bent (even though "repaired"(?)), I'd search for a low mile used one. Check out Autotrader.com Autobytel, this board, and all.

Thanks,
Richard

Sorry to post after myself, but there is one important matter I left out. Whoever "fixes" this car will do so with someone's insurance reimbursement. At that point, the fact that this car had such serious damage, and was "repaired" will go into a computer data base that ALL used car buyers can access. What do you think that will do to your resale value?

Good luck,
Richard

I am sure there are going to be other blues out there, so I think dragon should stick with the color he wants. As stated before, ask politely that they honor the deal you had with them and find you a blue without any damage that was previously 'fixed'. Heck... I know there are at least three here in California that they can ship all the way to you if need be. The dealership should be willing to eat the price of shipping due to their error. Good luck... and good color choice.

Do not take the car even if you have to walk away from the deal.

I too wonder how much more the dealer got for the car from the other buyer. Don't ever believe anything a dealer tells you unless you can see it with your own eyes.

hey all - just wanted to update everyone

so i talked to the original dealer (brewster honda) and got the VIN # from them.. then I talked to my dad, who was going to drop off the check for me, and they gave us 2 diff. VIN #'s.. which I find to be really really sketch. i then decided to just drop the whole deal, and went to the dealership, and asked for my deposit back. i didn't end up seeing the car, but whatever.

i called up another dealer, and got a price on a new blue that 'just came off the truck, still has all the tape and stuff on it' that was $300 more, but thats ok if all that is true. so i put a deposit down, and I'm going in today to fill out all the paperwork, check out the car, and make sure that it doesn't have those 2 VIN #'s that I have..

so im crossing my fingers, if everything goes right, I'll have a brand new untouched suzuka blue s2000 by the end of the week.. thanks for all your help guys, ill be sure to post pics once i get it (hopefully soon)

BTW.. do you guys want me to post those VIN #'s of the s2000 that the dealer is supposedly fixing so no one buys it as new?

let me know
