Default Need some legal advise....please

Wondering if anyone can provide me some quick legal advice. I recently leased an S2000 only to find out last week they put the wrong VIN number on the contract. I didn't see this as any big deal, and really it's not, but today I get the contract and while all the numbers are the same, the odometer reading is off by 9 miles (says 7 where it was 16 on the old contract) and on the old one I didn't have 12000 miles typed in the excessive wear and use line. Now I doubt I'll go over 12k and will more then likely purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease, but should I make them change this and resend the contact? Also, my in-transits are going to expire prior to them getting all this taken care of, should they have to revise that? My understanding is I signed a binding contact and if I wanted to push the matter, I could pursue them legally for the car they sold me not for the one I drove off with.

All that said, I don't want to give up my car for another one, but I want them to honor the terms they listed, even if they are incorrect now.

Thanks....

I wouldn't worry about the miles - thats a test drive or two - but are you saying the VIN on your contract doesn't match the car? That does need to get corrected. It sounds like you got a crappy lease writer more than anything.

Resend it where? Maybe they can rescind the contract.

The issue I'd worry about is the 12,000 mile limit. There's where you can really get into trouble $$$$$$$$$$.

Absolutely. Salespeople often "forget" about the fine print on leases like the annual milage limit. A higher limit increases the lease payment normally unless you negotiate it down.

bottom line is, it's a contract. unless you feel completely comfortable with it, don't sign it. if the dealer needs to change some things to make you feel comfortable enough to sign it, then that's what they've gotta do.
