I thought maybe using the key in the door, or using the door switch when sitting in the car, would also unlock the passenger side after doing this mod.

I think it's #8 that's hot. There should be less than 1V through 15 & 9 ground according to the manual so it sounds like it's safe to connect them.

You're definitely right about the momentary switch part. If that's the case then there's a need for a momentary timer/switch (using a 555 timer) - but than that would venture into Modifry's mod.

Hasn't somebody tried this yet on a car with the OEM factory alarm system?

We (my roommate and I) tried it on his MY02 the other night. At the risk of sounding like an idiot, we couldn't figure it out. He posted a question about it, but I don't think there have been any replies. I'm waiting on my MY04 to get out of the shop so we can compare wire colors and pin connectors. We spliced the pink/blue to about every yellow wire we found (there were something like 6 of them), but we never got the doors to unlock with one button press. The current configuration (our stopping point) was a splice between the pink/blue and a yellow -it gave us the same stock configuaration. Mine doesn't have the system, so perhaps it will give some insight.

Pics or input would be much appreciated! If we get it to work, we'll post some pics!

I'm the roommate. The configuration that worked like stock is exactly the configuration that Destiny2002 mentioned (#18 -> #7). If anyone here has an OEM alarm, the wires are pink/blue and yellow/white, for reference. I guess that means the mod doesn't work for OEM alarm systems. The next step I'll take is to splice further down the line, at the factory 18 pin connector. The one on my car seems to be hidden behind some panelling, so I'll have to take it out and try splicing there. I'll let you guys know if it works.

It worked (regarding mod with security system)! Thanks! Don't recommend doing this at night! Details later...
