Congrats! I've test driven every model year out there and I have to say that while the AP2 is good it's just not enough of a difference for me to want a new S2000. My 2002 has never given me a lick of trouble and it's paid for so I don't have much incentive to get something new.

Can I ask what the details of your trade was? I'm sure it would cost me at least $14k if I decided I wanted an '06-'07. Most likely I'll wait to see what Honda does for 2008.
my MAIN reason for trading was for peace of mind. plus, there some things here and there about the ap2's(06/07) that i just love. the rear speakers are great, seats are great, vsa is pretty cool. love the wheels. i think honda did an amazing job on the interior. of course, this is my first brand new car, so i've never felt what its like to ride something so new. also, on my ap1, wells fargo was raping me on %, i'm now financed through chase with almost a half percentage of before. even though i'm paying a little more than before, negative equity sucks plus, i got the extended 6yr warranty, that definitley keeps me at ease!!

Why did you get the gap? Who is your auto insurer?

FYI, GAP protection is offered free by some Insurance companies, like State Farm.

It'll save you money in the long run, as I'm sure they sold you the GAP during the financing, to which they make even more off of considering you are paying interest on it as well.

Fish, I traded up from an '01 to the '06 because I liked the new VSA and some of the ugrades were attractive. I, too notice the torque difference and am surprised at it. The dbw doesn't really give me a noticeable change, but I do notice a bit of difference in the handling. It isn't that it handles badly as opposed to the '01, it just feels a little different. Maybe its because the rear seems to stay planted a little better, but I'm not positive. Even though I've put 5k miles on mine, I still miss the 9k redline. The biggest problem I've had is in controlling overrev when pulling out from a ramp onto highways. I feel your pain for the break-in, it was NASTY.

what's weird about your DBW? if you want to feel torque, go for some gears.

congrats

you don't feel or gain any torque with gears. go drive a gto or mustang and you'll know what it's all about
