Default New 08 subtleties.

I dropped off some Toys for Tots today at the local Honda Dealer and had to gaze at the new 08 on the showroom floor. It was a NFR without any body mods (ie spoiler, front lip, strakes, etc) and looked real nice. I am absolutely in love with the 08' wheels and cannot wait till prices come down on them so I can snag a set. The interior was nice and I really also like the new seats with the red stitching on them as well. Other than that, I cant say Im too happy about the gauge cluster as I really prefer the Ap1's in that respect. But all in all, a nice car even though it really hasnt changed much from mine at all. But yea, I love the wheels. The only thing I know I would loathe is the drive by wire system, but thats just me. Thoughts on the 08's?

Loathe the DBW?? Have you driven one with the DBW?? Everybody hates on that system, but it's awesome. I was once an AP1 owner, and can't imagine owning an S without it. It's an unbelievably forgiving system that allows for a ton of fun without interference, but keeps you in check with you hang it out a little too far...

Don't knock it till you try it

You're thinking of VSA.

Matt is talking about DBW (electronic throttle)

LOL, I was thinking... huh?

The only thing I can think off when it comes to DBW is quicker throttle reponse, but most people say there's a lag in the system.

I do think the red stitching in the seats is cool. However, the new design to the headrests looks like it came out of a miata. The new wheels are 'ok' looking, but the CR versions are definitley awesome looking. I do like the idea of TPMS though.

I have not driven a DBW car, but I suspect that any difference in feel or any lag may be more subjective than real. Done properly there is no reason for DBW to be slower than a steel cable.

Now I have *seen* DBW, and it looks UGLY to me, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As a part of VSA it's a nice additon to the car (IMO).

Id love to have VSA, but I just really cannot enjoy driving a car with DBW as much as I can a "old school" system... You got pm by the way.
