new clutch input...
As much as I dislike the thought of replacing a clutch in a brand new car (2500 miles young) I can't deal with this stock one any longer. I'd appreciate any input and knowledge.
Honestly, I have yet to hear of a good manufacturer of clutches for the S2000 and little info from owners on this in the past 2 years. this would be good knowledge! Would an aftermarket one be ready for 9K rpm's?
I am getting my clutch replaced today as i blew it yesterday , standard clutches arent the best in the s2000"s i have only done 3500km in the car and already it burned out , HONDA is replacing it with a std clutch , i too would like to no of other clutches which are good fot the s2k - i cant believe i have to replace it after 3500km , i do drive it hard but im really suprised
do a search on clutch (advanced search, search titles only). I just did this 'cause I think my clutch is getting ready to go funky on me and I may have to replace it. Sorry I can't post any links, but I have lost the threads already.
ACT seems to be a good choice, it seems a lot of people have upgraded to ACT;
gregstevens got the works from SPOON: clutch, disk and flywheel and seems to like it pretty well
Mugen (Kingmotorsports) has a pressure plate and disk, but it's more $$ than the ACT package

I would contact the editors of the magazine "sportcompact car"
www.sportcompactcarweb.com" In their latest issue Aug. 2001 they have 2 articles on modified s2000.
The first mod was written by Josh Jacquot where he used a ACT pressure plate, stock Honda clutch disc, and a Comptech lightened flywheel.
The other s2k was done by Larry Saavedra and he used a ABT/Sachs sport clutch.
I'm sure by calling the offices, they would have no problem talking to you.
Hope that helps
