new engine a bad thing?
I would be honest. You dont want to be sued by the new buyer if he comes to
find out about this. You will possibly have to lower the price, I think, if someone
is going to buy it knowing everything. If I was buying it and you told me about
the engine replacement, I would want all receipts and if possibly talk to the
shop or dealer that did it to find out why and if they did everything to factory specs.

I think that as long as the car doesn't have a salvage title, then morals is the only thing you have to worry about. Is the title to the car clear? Do a carfax report, is the replacement on there? I, personally would tell a private owner about it, because it always comes back to bite you in the ass. On the other hand...I traded in my 2000 with 44,000 miles to a dealer for over $18,000. They didn't know about the engine rebuild, new diff., new axles, clutch replacement,...let's see, I think that's it. Turns out the car I bought from them had even more problems. I guess what I'm trying to say is, IT ALWAYS COMES BACK TO BITE YOU IN THE ASS.
