New engine to react better to mods?
Any idea if this new 2.2 liter engine will react better to bolt on mods since hp remained the same yet engine is larger. The 2 liter F20C showed minimal gains for intake and exhaust. Will real gains be acheived with theis new motor?
well thats still good right? it kinda evens out, mods will get more response than hp gains, imo its still good, a nice trade off if there are no hp gains. after all its still a s2000 which is still very good even w/out engine mods.
I thought I read the compression ratio went up. If so, doesn't that make substantial power mods (ie, FI) more diffiult to do?
As it is, you can't get much more than 5-6 lbs of boost with an S/C on the F20C.

Yes, if they raised the compression it would hinder the SC or Turbo. Those are best with a lower compression motor to get more boost out of them. Most likely you will be able to run about 5 psi. Now with a 8-9 compression engine, you can run about 12 psi or more, depending on the internals.
Now there are different mods that can be done, but with the S as it is, it is already squeezed plenty to get max hp out of.
