Default New to the forum, love the s2k

I currently own a 91 Nissan 240sx Hatchback..

Wondering if the s2k is as much fun as a 240sx drifting n such..

This is my 2nd 240sx.. Engine only has 20k on it (KA24DE) So she rides nice for her age... I owned a civic si for a bit but got tired of the FWD real quick and went back to another 240.

Just seein if I can get some feedback if you think I would be happy with the s2k..

My first car was a '92 240sx hatch -- definitely a fun car, but the s2k is much different (and offers a much more enjoyable driving experience, in my opinion). In stock form, the S is like a scalpel, the 240, more like a steak knife -- to me anyway. The handling, chassis stiffness, shifter feel, and engine of the S are just on a different level (as they should be -- it's ~10 years newer and at least $10k more expensive than a new 240 was back in the day).

I'm sure if you dropped an SR20DET in the 240 and firmed up its suspension it could be a much different story though. The aftermarket support for the 240 seems strong so I'm sure you could make it into whatever you'd want it to be. But if you like the 240 with a KA24DE, something tells me you'd love an S2000 with an F20C or F22C

And we didn't even consider the fun of top-down driving

Welcome!

My son sold an SR20DET 240 with a Tien drift setup, revised (drift) suspension linkage for more lock, etc not too long ago...He did drift it whenever he got the chance. To me the S2000 is more challanging to drive as you approach the limits...the 240 was really forgiving. But I also think the s2k is more fun and more communicative. In many ways the cars are very similar. And there are conversion kits out there to bolt a 240/300zx rear end onto the s2000 which gives you a BUNCH of ratio options.

Might be a challange to drift the s2k, though. I guess a lot would depend on finding the right tires with a nice gradual break-away characteristic. Won't be a problem getting it to rotate though. Just make sure you have some run-off to play with.

I'm looking to pickup a black s2000 as soon as I can find one in my area..

I love rwd cars so much, when its a little wet out and you can give it a bit of gas, the ass comes around and you can manage to control an out of control car.. Just brings a smile to my face everytime..

Try it in FWD and you go straight.. lol

I'm looking to replace it as my daily driver.. Seems like space might be an issue.. I took a ride in one of my friends 07 s2k and once you get in the car, you are a part of it... He took a few turns and the car just stays planted... Very impressed..

I need to go test drive one.. hehe

Definitely one of the most fun cars to drive that I've owned (Evo, 350Z, GTO, several Gti's, etc). I wouldn't buy it with the idea of using as a drift car though. The S is really not setup for that without a bunch of modifications.

He is right. I do want the S, but because of the money. I was in the market for a 07 SI with Navi, because I like some luxury with Navi that Si have. Until I test drove the S and screaming at the top of my lung as I HIT VTEC WHOOO HOOO!!!!
After the test run done.

The saleman ask me "So do you still want the Si now? I told him F#%k NO!!!! hhahahaha

Guess. I got an S. hahahha
