Default New here and Have many questions!

I just joined today! and I have many questions!
I was on 8thcivic.com for awhile, and now I know alot about them

I'm here to find out more about s2000
and yes, i did search a bit to answer some of my questions,

can someone clarify the difference in the 9k redline, and the 8k redline?
from my understanding all the 05' and under had 9k redline?
is it due to a engine change?

what are the chassis codes on the s2000?
2.0 = AP1 and 2.2 = AP2 ??? plz correct me if i am wrong?
and what year was the 2.0, and what year was the 2.2?

and please fill me on the changes of the s2000 over the years!!!
because i'm trying to buy a used s2k, and want to know which one i should get

MY00-MY03 has the 2.0 with a 9k redline. MY04 and up has the 2.2 with a 8k redline. So yeah AP1's are 2000-03 and the AP2 is 2004-07. the 00-01 has a plastic rear window. In 2002 they came with the glass window, and chrome rings on the taillights. There have also been suspension changes during the AP1 years, but don't exactly know the specific changes. A lot of early S2000's also have the clutch buzz, which does not affect funcionality. Just annoying. There are other changes as well. I'm sure other people will post.

Different countries vary with the changes in each year, so the list would be quite extensive if I were to list them all. Since you're in the US, I'll state just quickly answer your questions. For more info on specific changes on the US models, refer to the stickies and FAQs.

AP1
Model Year: 2000-2003
Engine: 2.0L F20C
Redline: 9000K

AP2
Model Year: 2004-2007
Engine: 2.2L F22C
Redline: 8000K (now comes with more low-end torque)

Japan's AP1 & AP2 line is a bit different. The body styling & interior changes are the same as ours, but their engine remained as the F20C until 2006 (I belive). As far as I know, England still uses the F20C in their AP2 models. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

In addition to the body changes. The AP1 wheels which are 16x6.5 and 16x7.5 were changed to 17x 7 and 17x8.5 in 2004.

Yes. But there have been 2 different style 17's so far. I love the new ones though.

They're simply classified as AP2 v1 and AP2 v2.
