Default New here....what are my options?

Hey guys, newbie here...don't worry, I used the search button and all and did alot of research. Introduction first: I used to own a '93 Twin Turbo Rx-7...loved it, but had to sell it. Now I'm thinking of getting a used S2K....I know that 2004 model will be 2.2 and etc..., but I can't wait that long. So far from what I gather, the major differeces between the years have been: 02 has revised transmission (less grinding, less sounds), newer rear central brake light shape, glass rear window, clock in radio....and somehow the motors are slightly faster than 00-01...am I right? And for 03, they added tweeters...anything else? Well, once again, I hope to own one soon (actually anyday now). Thanks!

I wasn't aware of new tweeters in '03, Saint... The '03 is pretty much the same as the '02... Yes there were a few tweaks for the '02 model year; some folks feel it made the car a little less tail-happy...

Hope you come aboard soon. The S2000 has been one of my all-time best purchases!

Yeah, I can't wait!! I just loved the interior! I miss my 7, but I want the S2K for peace of mind (not a maintenance monster)....Does anybody have any advice as to what to look for in a used S2K? I'm just a little weary, because my '93 Rx-7 had quite a bit of problems with alot of them worked out with the '94-'95 models...

If you're a rotary head, Spinner, why aren't you looking at an RX-8? (just curious)

so in other words, if I buy any S2000, theyre all pretty much the same? What about the gear grindings from 00-01? If it still has warranty, do they just fix it or replace it with the 02 tranny?

Pretty much, Saint! All similar, all great! (nah, we're not biased around here.... ) The '02 glass rear window is one of the biggies most people consider.

Seriously, though, there were several moderatly serious tech bulletins issued on the '00 and '01 cars. If you buy used, inquire as to what work was done on the car. Poke around the search tab for discussion on TSBs...
