So are you saying that an excellent driver should not have a loud horn? You are making less sense by the post.

I agree with Biegs comments about making your own 'luck' by paying attention / not driving in peoples blind spots / not talking on the phone / watching other drivers & anticipating their moves / etc. I also agree that the horn on the S2000 sucks. I guess I'm just an agreeable guy

Since then have driven over 900,000 miles!

Ok, so I don't have tiny hands, and I can't fit my (Fiamm) air horn kit without taking off the front bumper.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the front bumper please? What screws do I remove and where? Are there any issues with realigning the bumper when refitting it?

Thanks,

Its real easy to mount the Fiamm air horns to the hood!

Hmmm, was considering getting them till you mentioned taking the front bumper off!

The stock one can barely be heard and needs to be replaced.
Really? I have never tried it.

Really I think some of you are going deaf with all that audio gear you load into the S2000 to fix the lousy speakers. You need a horn YOU can hear over the 1000 watt amps and the sub woofer. For anything I might use the horn for the stock one is fine. How loud does it have to be to beep someone asleep at a light?

I didn't fit my air horns but the installer who did simply removed the black plastic guard under the front edge of the bumper and installed them that way. I do believe you can do it without removing the bumper.

Muz,

You can install the airhorns without taking off the bumper in the way you described, but when you connect the tubes from the compressor to the airhorns, you'll need to put your hands through the grill.

My installer put in the air horns without taking off the bumper, but he still connected the tubes through the grill.

I finally installed my Hella Supertones last weekend. What a big difference. Those babies are really loud!! It took me all day to finish the job because I also cleaned up the front bumper and spoiler. The advice I was able to find here in previous threads was quite helpful - but at the same time, it was also confusing, because of the different horns and ways that ppl connected the system.

For anyone interested, I installed the horns on each side of a bracket which I mounted horizontally to the same hole that the stock horn was attached (as Bigal did). I also bought a Hella relay which contained an inline fuse, from Neuspeed (I thoroughly recommend anyone to get one of these. About $10) and mounted it to the bolt which holds the top left corner of the radiator to the front frame - in the small gap just to the left of the black piece which angles down. The fuse is now very accessible. I attached the relay and horns to ground on the front left corner (where there are several other grounds connected), and got my 12 volt supply from the front left terminal in the fuse box (passenger side). For the ground and 12V I crimped the wire to a 3/8" ring terminal. For the 12V I bent the ring at right angles and fed the wire down the hole (with 2 other wires) on the right front right side of the box; then I could put the cover back on with no interference.

Basically it was quite straightforward, but a little knowledge of electrics would be beneficial. BTW, the horn circuit supplies 12 volts to the Hella relay (not ground) when the horn is pressed. Basically, the stock wiring and relay are still in place and are still used, so that when you press the horn, the stock relay activates, which supplies 12 volts to activate the Hella relay. No-one seemed to mention that in other threads. Perhaps everyone thought that was obvious! I didn't!

Now I know how it's done, if anyone needs any help with the Hella install, let me know.

You guys are funny You're falling right into Bieg's trap! He posts these messages NOT because he feels this way but because he wants to get your goat! You guys fall right into it. Bieg lives and breathes for this type of excitement! The more you post in defense of his post the more he's going to post! (Did you follow that?) Honestly, let's try something. If you don't like Bieg's posts do not respond. If you ignore Bieg I bet he will slowly disapear. He'll try and deny this but that's the first sign of this type of disorder. So everybody, get very diciplined and DO NOT REPLY to Beig. Of course, this does not apply to anyone who is in agreement with him. I think that Bieg should be allowed to post anywhere he likes but you're just adding fuel to the fire when you respond. Just my 2 cents on this WHOLE on going fued
