example of need for horn:
yesterday i was sitting in downtown traffic (one lane) stopped. i notice an SUV starting to back out of its parking space headed towards me. by the fact that it was not slowing as it approached me, i could tell that they did not see my car right behind theirs.
the ONLY solution was my very loud (thank goodness!) horn.
i blew it, the SUV screached to a halt, rolled down the window and yelled- "sorry, didnt see you back there"...
i replied, "no problem"-
it would have been a problem without a horn!
no defensive driving technique would have replaced the horn in this situation...(there was no place to go)-
