I got the following info on the warranty, etc from Comptech today:

"At this point, we do not plan build only a few supercharger kits and then
stop. We have way too much R&D into the project to do something like that.
Our first production run is only about 5 kits, so that may be where some
people are thinking that we won't be building very many. If the demand is
there, we will continue to build them. Just for reference, we've built about
150 NSX kits so far and each production run increases in size.

As for the warranty issue, the kit will have our standard two year warranty
on it. If there is an engine failure, then we would need to determine the
cause of the failure to determine if we would be paying for a rebuild. But
the warranty will not cover anything else in the drivetrain such as
clutches, transmissions, rear ends, axles etc. As an example, if you were to
twist an axle, and the car has a supercharger and wider tires on it, you can
bet that the warranty will not cover that failure. You can rest assured that
there have not been any engine failures on NSX's that can be attributed to
the supercharger.

People must realize that adding a power enhancer such as a supercharger
doesn't overstress the engine in normal day-to-day driving, but when they
drive in an abusive manner(popping the clutch, etc) it can be very, very
hard on the drivetrain and things will start breaking. And no manufacturer
will warranty their products against abuse.

The engine management computer in the car is capable of reacting to what it
percieves as a problem, such as detonation. It will back off the timing, add
fuel, whatever it determines is needed. If this starts happening, the driver
will notice the change(drop) in power and needs to get out of the gas. If
they keep pushing it, then damage can occur. As we develop a kit such as
this, we test in every way possible to make sure things don't get into this
danger zone. We try to maintain a safe cushion instead of going for the
maximum. We feel confidant at this point that if someone has an engine
failure with our supercharger on the car, they had to really, really try
hard to make it happen, because so far we haven't been able to force any
failures."

No prob. guys.

I should also point out that I asked him if they would post a dyno, and I'm waiting to hear back on it...

So what are they saying??? They put all this R&D into a product and are going to produce it and then only do it for like 5 chargers then stop....(for ever)

Or will this first run be of 5 then do another run in 2 months or so of 5-8?

It sounds a bit like a Beta test to me. Put out five... see what happens. Record the instalation problems reported, record the operating problems reported... Re-engineer a bit, and then do another production run.

I would definitely want to be buying from the second run.

They're saying it was a misunderstanding that someone thought they were only making 5, they're making 5 in the first run. When those sell, they'll make 7 in the second run, or whatever.

The point is that it's a low volume item, so they're not going to make 50 kits now and hope they sell them, they're basically making them as demand requires...

Realistically, if you were Honda, would you put a car out and then support it under warranty if someone supercharged it? I wouldn't.
