Has anyone bought and installed one? They are asking about $360 for it has anyone gotten a better price? Are they as good as the AEM??

Do you have a pic that shows a photo of it? Would this be what they call an "FIPK"? I've always been a fan of K&N and I've had FIPK's on previous cars. They seem to work very well. Although the AEM is tough to beat in terms of performance gains, I think an FIPK would come close and it would be a simpler install.

One is standard: http://www.knfilters.com/images/typhoon/69-1041TS.jpg

One is Cold Air: http://www.knfilters.com/images/typhoon/69-1040TS.jpg

Both look like every other AEM type.

Which do you think is better, AEM or PRM? I am considering going with a cold air, and have looked at the Mugen, but find the cost a little .

Does Mugen offer any advantage over the others, with or without their fromt bumper with intake?

If I wait and add a SC, does its kit come with a cold air intake?

Hey guys - My S was a part of the R&D process for the 2000 MY. From what I saw, unfortunately they didn't give me a print out, the car gained 10 horsepower. I don't know if they were blowing $h|+ up my a$$ but I saw the numbers on the dyno computer. Seat of the pants dyno says that 10 seems about right. I'm no expert so take it for what it's worth.

K&N has been around the intake business for a long time. It may be more expensive but as far as I can tell, it's worth the extra $$'s. They also have a screen or mask included with the kit, called a drycharger. Basically, it keeps water from entering the intake. It can't block a flow of water but any mist or spray can be kept out. I'll try to get some pics up for you to check out later tonite.

The difference between the 2 filters is that one is a cold air and the other is not. 1040TS is the cold air.

Chris

If it looks like either one of these, then you are better off with the AEM.
