Default New Owner

Greetings. I am a new proud owner of a Formula Red S2000. I ordered the vehicle yesterday and expect delivery from the factory in approximately a month. One of many reasons that I decided on a S2000 is the passionate, knowledgeable people in this club and all of the incredible information that you've all shared about your cars and experiences.

Interesting story.....I went for a test drive yesterday with the salesperson. And he was attempting to demonstrate some of the power of the vehicle. We didn't get more than 50 feet from the lot when he hit the accelerator and the car began spinning wildly. It was extremely cold and the tires hadn't warmed up. I lost count at four revolutions as I was looking at utility pole that we were careening towards. The car spun across the road, and came to rest on the opposite side of the road pointing in the opposite direction. No, we didn't hit the pole and yes, I still bought the car but it served to REMIND ME some of the discussions that have taken place on this site. This car is an incredible machine and it demands a lot of respect with regards to my abilities and the conditions in which I'm driving.

sorry for the long note.

Not a long note at all. Welcome to the gang. It seems that you are well versed in this site, and some of the unique characteristics the S2000 has to offer. Don't forget to change your profile to "owner" by entering your VIN into the site database once you recieve it.

Also, and you likely already know this, no "demonstrating the cars power" until at least 600 miles. (It should also keep your nose pointing in the same direction ) You're gonna have to reign yourself in from VTECing, but once broken in, the car, and this site will provide you with hours of endless fun.

Happy motoring!

Asif

Congrats man and a good choice indeed. Well when I got mine, they gave me the keys to the car and told me to have fun. They did not bother taking me out for a test drive or maybe they were being sexist? Probably thinking "The girl can't drive stick and she probably wouldn't get it..." But I got it anyway and you know what, its the best decision that I have made and I am soo happy for you!! Welcome!!!!
