Oil is first and foremost, Many S2k owners especially those with AP1's like myself don't realize that some of these motors consume oil faster than others. I wasn't aware and could have blown my motor when I first got mine. The oil pressure light turned on, and I shut the car off immediately and put oil in. Others haven't been so lucky. Make it a point to check your oil every 500k, or every 1k at the very least.

And by k you mean kilometers and not thousand increments?

Assuming you all don't scream "DON'T DO IT" what is the first thing you recommend I do? I want to keep it stock so I am talking about things like switching to Synthetic Oil, Changing Diff Fluid, etc...

Thanks in advance for your advice.
12.5k?! That's insane! Around here in LA you'll be lucky to get one with 100k+ for 12.5k! I'm jealous... Maybe I'm not looking hard enough or low ballin lol

Is there a way to find this out without physically looking at them (diag tests or anything)? I wanted to check on this specific point before purchasing a car but Honda said it would be very pricey and the car would need to be left for 2 days

That's because they don't know what they are doing. Find a competent S2000 mechanic.

What I did:

Change Oil
Change Diff Oil
Change Trans Oil

Wash/Wax
Detail Interior as well
Check tire pressure (don't forget the spare!)
Bought myself some 303 to wash/protect the soft top

Read Manual front to back, back to front.
Make sure you have jack, tire iron etc.
Lubed all door seals/rubber

Go on s2ki every single day and learn at least 1 thing about the s2k every day.

I tried to make it "show room" condition or atleast close to it!

I'd also add like others have stated:
spark plugs
intake filter
cabin filter

Invest in seat locks, alarm, kill switch perhaps? (beef up your security) The cars I've heard of stolen amongst my friends is s2ks.
