Just took possession of S2000 last week (Silver/Red/Hardtop) and on return from having an alarm/immobiliser and Tracker fitted discovered that there is no cover below the steering column above the footwell to hide the wiring etc. I didn't check whether it was there before the fitting but it could be that it's been removed to do the fitting and not replaced . Could someone advise whether there should be a cover in this location before I go back and kick arse.

Also, a minor point but irritating nevertheless. The cover to the ash tray/drinks holder will not lie down in spite of gentle and patient coaxing. Is there a simpe solution to this.

Apart from that - what a car !!!!

For RHD vehicles - no cover.

Dunno about the ashtray - do you mean the cover won't stay down or when it is down it is not perfectly flat with console cover?

Paul,
I have had the same work done on mine and have never noticed a missing cover. Sadly, I cannot check as it is locked away in the garage just now.

However, if you can see wires or it is interfering with your legroom - go kick somebody as mine doesn't and yours shouldn't.

The ashtray cover on mine used to flip up a lot after my alarm was installed. It works by you 'clipping' it shut. However, when I had my alarm system installed I had a sensor placed in the blank switch next to the light washer button. The cable ran under the console and just encroached on the ash tray movement. Have your installer check this out and confirm the correct working. It is not rocket science and there is no fancy mechanism.

Kind Regards,
Sam.
