Never, but may entertain buying a new version.
I just don't think it would compare in terms of raw driving experience to the 1999-2009 versions, but you never know?

There is no way I'll be giving up my s2000. These cars are getting rarer & value is only going up from here. Now I will entertain giving up my STI for a new civic type r , but who knows.

I'm yet to have seen anything convincing for any reputable sources.
IF even there was a new one, I'm guessing just like the NSX it would share nothing but the name with it's predecessor which will only make the classic that much more sought after. It's becoming a classic and one of those vehicles that is irreplaceable.
To compete with it's performance rivals (boxster, Z4...) it would need to be priced in the 60-100k range and there's no way I'd spend that kind of $ on a Honda...nor is that their target consumer... I just don't see them bringing it back.
If anything, I'd imagine we would see a Prelude come-back...

Its performance rivals this time around are said to be Miata and FRS. So no need for $100k Porsche killer. This time around it seems the target is more about sales performance than the cars performance.
Still, I don't think it would take $100k or even $60k to approach Boxter territory...

Also depends on whether I've gone blind, disabled, demented or some other such due to old age by the time it comes out.

Interesting you say that. A rumor discussed on ToV is that a new FR sportscar platform is in the works, and it will come in both convertible and coupe form. The convertible will be an S car, and the coupe will be called 'Prelude.'

I just prefer older cars, even if it is a little slower. More mechanically raw, simpler, less random electronics to fuss with, more focused on whats important: the driving experience. so no, I'm planning on keeping my s2k
