Default The new S2000?

I don't recall where I read it but I believe it was on www.caranddriver.com, about the new S2000. They said it was possible that it would be introduced in the Acura lineup. Their reasoning was it didn't "fit" with the Honda image.

Is there any knowledge on this? I would assume they would HAVE to be working on something since the a redesign should be coming shortly.

This is a hard question to answer because no one knows what is going on.

The new model year was a Honda with no changes. That sums it up for 05...

Looking ahead to 06 no one knows, but most of us hope that the S2K is going out of production. There are some signs pointing to this. However, if the S sticks around it will probably be due for a complete redesign but unless they up the cost by 10k it will probably continue to be a Honda since it was introduced for Hondas anniversary.

Thats what I thought when I heard the Acura deal, it would have to be a 40k car then in relation to the rest of the line up. At that price I think people would look just a little higher up for a ton more power.

In Canada it would fit in the line-up. It's $50k cdn which is $40k usd.

I don't think "most" is the correct term there. Maybe those that think the S2000 will become collectible or who think they're "elite" because they own an S2000 ... But I think for a lot of us who bought the S2000 just to enjoy the drive, we either don't care if its discontinued or not, or we want the S2000 to continue to be made ... even re-designed so when its time to purchase a new S2000, there's one available.

I'm not sure why so many of you want the car to be discontinued, it sounds almost as if you got the car and you want to be special so you don't want anyone else to have the chance to get one. The S2000 isn't rare enough at this point to make it collectible though... With 5 years of production, it might hold its value and be more like the Supra if its discontinued, but thats probably about as far as it'd go in the short term.

I highly doubt it will achieve Supra status if discontinued. The Supra is popular because if its incredible modability (as with any turbo) in addition to the movies. So unless some significant progress is made mod wise or some more lame movies are made starring the S I don't see this happening. I also agree that there are way too many S2000's to become a collector car unless we are talking 40 years down the road. In which case hopefully we aren't running on gas then.

I agree some redesigns would be interesting, and isn't it the norm for Honda to come out with a fresh design after small upgrades (ie MY04 tweaks)?
