New to the S2000 World
I am thinking about trading in my car and buying an S2000 and would like to hear from as many people as possible on the good, the bad and the ugly. I am most interested in the daily driveablity and the amount of true upgrades there are out there...........anything you guys have to say would be great...thanks
Welcome to s2ki.com. There's been a lot of discussion on both facets of your question. The search tab should help you locate other threads which go into details.
I have no mods on my car (except the dealer's Ti shift knob
)
As for the daily driver aspect; that really depends on you. There are many strong opinions to be found here. There are folks who drive their S2000s even in bad winter weather. All I'd say is that this car begs to be driven and driven quickly. If you're honest with yourself and your responsibility level is good, then you will love this car. You will wish your drive to/from work was LONGER than it is now
Best wishes from New England, cbb!

The good:
I can drive this car through 4 seasons (winter no problem with snow tires).
It is my daily driver and has been solid like the rock of ...........
For a 240 HP car, it has the ability to get great gas mileage (39.9 miles/Can. gal.)
This is a very sporty car for the money. Fun, fun, fun.
With a hardtop, it can be 2 cars in one (coupe and convertible).
It's a real eye catcher (rubber neckers galore).
It's small and very agile. You can wash your car and shake off most of the water by turning real hard.
It's like driving a motorcycle with 4 wheels.
It's a Honda (kinda like a Civic on steroids). It can be an errand runner or a race car.
It has a 6 sp. tranny. I just love 6 speeds.
For most shapes of people, it fits like a glove.
It's a RWD car. You can do amazing things with a RWD car.
The bad:
If you have a family, this can't be your only car. It's only a 2 seater.
Could use with a bit more storage space in the interior but I've learned to travel light.
It's small. SUV's and semis will eat you for breakfast if you don't watch out for them because they won't watch out for you.
Many people with V8's in their cars will think this car is nothing and constantly challenge you. I ignore them (usually).
It's a RWD car. It takes a bit more skill to drive a RWD car in all conditions.
The ugly:
If you drive it like you stole it, you might just break something (and it can be pricey to fix).
Many people with V8's in their cars will think this car is nothing and constantly challenge you. It's real ugly for them when you beat some of them.
It's a RWD car. If you can't get out of the FWD/AWD mentality, this car may just bite you.
