Default new to s2k

hi, i am new to this forum, and have been reading a lot of posts, and just come to a conclusion of wondering that if i got a s2000, would it be that hard to maintain, because some of the things i read made it seem like it.
and if i got a nice sensor alarm and/or the new gps tracking system, would my stuff still get stolen? i mean getting my car keyed is still bad, but im more worried about someone stealing my stuff.
thanks for any help you guys can give me, i hope i'm not being redundent apposed to other posts, it's just that i couldn't catch these answers, thanks

Welcome aboard.

If someone wants your stuff bad enough, they're going to get it no matter what you drive or what alarm you have installed. It's only a deterent.

Conceal, secure and protect your property whenever you can.

and if i had a choice between a brand new o3 and a o4, which would be the smarter choice, because from what i read, it seems as if some people are saying the o3 is better? thanks a lot

Well, the MY03-MY04 issue has been discussed to it's fullest. The conclusion that has come out of it is.....We wont know until it is fully released and able to be tested. There are many MY04's that have been on order and tehre are many people (including me) that bought a MY03 since we dont like the changes in the MY04. Besides, would you just go out and buy a car that you may not like just cuz it's what I said you should do? I honestly hope not

As for the protection, there is only so much you can do. The good thing is our cars arent very many so you know it wont be stolen for parts. S2000's are not as common to be stolen as say a Civic, due to the lack of S' on the road that would use the parts, where as the Civic could be chopped and sold in a day.

For Hardtops, you can search the forums for Hardtop Guy. He has the lowest prices I have seen so far. About $2500 or so. Honda wants almost $4k!!!

depends on where in the bay area you are. as far as i know s2000s are not on the most wanted list for stolen cars....but hey, s**** happens...just make sure you have insurance.

between 03 and 04, i like the 03. torque is meaningless. i wouldn't buy into the more torque arguement.
