Honestly...the S2000 motor is already rung out to produce about as much feasible N/A hp possible. The best way to add power to it cheaply? Loose some weight on the car and loose that darn beer gut! It's amazing how much faster the car is with 150 lbs of car body fat shed and a 140 lb driver.

The car is so fun to drive stock. I got the K&N FIPK as I like how it sounds. I would wait for the turbo before doing anything and put a new headunit, small 2 channel amp and speakers in the car.

It's already a quick car, just learn how to drive it and you'll be surprised.
exactly.

900hp won't help if you can't manage 90hp

also consider good sticky tires and more agressive allignment.

x3 on that.

but if you are going turbo why waste money on intake and header. Just do all basic maintenace and put fresh fluids in everything. how about saving for support mods like clutch/flywheel or puddymod diff if you like drag racing?

If you're going to turbo...

then a Nice 3" TP/HFC, and Exhaust will be a good start. Everything else would be replaced by the turbo assembly anyways.

Tires, and Skill are next.

P.S. Cheap and good doesn't exist on this car... except the K&N FiPK (in comparison) but that's a waste of money if you're doing boost anyways.

Track / Autocross school sounds somewhat fun, has anyone else gone? It would be good to learn some racing tricks to apply to everyday driving. Also that way if i did feel like stomping a civic at a red light I would win more easily. Tires don't sound like a bad idea either.

autox can make one faster in a straight line.

all else equal, a seasoned track driver is more then likely faster then a Fast & furious fanboy.

the fanboy is probably "power shifting" and "double clutching" while the the experienced driver is calm and collective hitting all his shifts with little to no chance of missing a gear.

as ross bently put it in his book Speed Secrets, a slow shift is always faster then a miss shift.
