I've been hovering around for awhile but finally registered. I'm currently driving an 03' VW GTI, but I miss having RWD car after having owned mustangs before. I'm seriously looking into an S but have couple of ?'s

As a poor a$$ 3rd yr college student I would be looking ~$18K maybe a little more to spend. I know i shouldn't have too much trouble finding 00'-02' without too much mileage in that range. What I am wondering is what i should look out for on these cars, or what are some common problems that I should be aware of? Also what all changed in 02' besides the shifter and glass window, and are the differences worth spending a little more on an 02' everything else being equal?

I would definitely go 02+ and get the glass rear window. The plastic in the 00-01 sucks balls.

I like the 9K redline in the pre-04 models...but they say the 04+ has a more usable powerband. But the power curve debate between some AP1 and AP2 owners is rather pointless because both generations nail Hondas original intentions of the S2000 with amazing precision.
