Default New Windshield Question

Hi All,

I had a rock put a decent size hole in my windshield driving down to Florida over the past weekend. I called the insurance company and they sent out someone who tried to repair it. It now looks worse than it did. The insurance company will get me a new windshield for my 250 deductables.

Anyone have any experience having their windshield replaced and any gotchas?

Thanks in Advance,
Dean

I've read many posts of people saying the quality of the glass Honda puts on the S2's is low quality(soft as some call it) because of weight being an issue.I'm sure a few people will be able to give you advice.

The glass is not soft or low-quality! The S2000's windshield is fairly upright in angle. This causes a much harder impact when a rock hits the glass as compared to a windshield at a lower angle.

Remember back to your physics classes? What happens if you throw a ball at an upright wall? Much of the forward motion of the ball is absorbed by the wall and the ball's only change in direction is backwards. Take that same ball and throw it at a wall which is at a 45

damn. I paid a few bucks under $500 - OUT OF MY OWN DAMN POCKET to repair!

and nope, I didn't use Honda glass - that stuff pits too easlily. Sure it might save a pound and a few grams, who knows? But while your car is on a diet - I'll be the one that can see out of my window! =D
