Default Newbie questions

Hi all,
I am being transferred to San Diego in June and intend to buy a S2k upon arrival. It is definetly the best car in the sub 35k price range, but all of you know that. Are there any parts, other than the weak clutch, after numerous excessive clutch drops, that are prone to failure? Are there any recalls or tech service bullitens on the S2k? Also, what intake and exhaust have shown the largest power gains? Thanks in advance.

For maintenance, the older the car the more likely its got problems. Window failure is a semi-common problem, fixed under warranty. Most older cars by now have had the clutch-buzzing TSB done, so thats not really a problem.

Intakes/Exhaust are not going to show major gains. 5-10 hp, 15 tops. It really comes down to weight savings.

If you can afford a new one, buy it.
