Default newbie s2000 questions

Hi,
This is my first post. Sometime this month I plan to trade my Miata in for an S2000. I have some questions.
Are there any suspension changes needed right away? My Miata needed a performance alignment, better tires, better shocks and stiffer sway bars before it really handled well. Does the S2000 need those upgrades or is it good to go right off the showroom floor?
How much of a nuisance is it to fit the convertible top cover? The Miata is a real PIA with 11 snaps.
When I looked at S2000's several years ago the dealers were all adding $3000 to the sticker and not dealing. Now it seems they are more inclined to deal. Are people able to get an S2000 for less than sticker?
Finally, can anyone suggest a dealer to buy from/avoid in the east or south SF Bay area?
Thanks.

I can get you an S2000 for 30K and some change in socal.
In regards to your questions, this is a handbuilt track car.

It's track ready for most people. Mr. Honda don't make too many mistakes, and all the mistakes he made has pretty much been solved in the My04.

The S2000 comes from the factory set up really well. The first time you take a corner at speed you will have answerd your own question.

If anything, you may need an alignment off the showroom floor.

Otherwise, the car is perfect!

MY04 needs alignment or it will understeer at limits....heard X-brace will help too (but not as much as in MY00-03)....i'm sure you can also find nicer tires for the MY04...MY00-03's come with S-02's which are quite sticky...
You can get an S2000 in the bay area for $0-$1000 over invoice...I purchased mine from Honda of El Cerrito and loved the experience.

oh and the top goes down in less than 5 seconds...it is (one of) the fastest tops ever....you do have to undo 2 snaps though....
