I already called a psychic about this.

She insisted I was a Sagittarius. And that his insurance will keep him.

I kept telling her I was born in the spring time :'(

I did some quick shopping. I currently pay $350/6month for both my 2015 Jetta (wife's car) and my S2k.
I did a Progressive quote with the two accidents noted and my wife's ticket for speeding and I even added my last ticket which was more than 4 years ago (failure to obey highway sign). Got $1000/6 months. That is 3 times my current quote. Without the S2000 the quote is $383/6months (so basically the s2000 is twice as much to ensure).

My Geico insurance is up for renwal in March next year. Should I wait till then or just go ahead and switch companies before they drop me now, or stop renewal in March (I am guessing they have to give me some sort of advance notice, they usually send renewal reminder a month in advance anyways).

As far as the car itself. I love it and I won't mind getting it back but yes I will always have a lingering suspicion that something wasn't fixed right after the accident. The body shop is a very reputable place (D&V auto body dulles) in my area. They put it on some frame check machine thingy. I am not saying that can't fix it. Just that the manager thought it's not worth fixing. 16k is already approaching the 75% threshold of totaling a car in VA and that is the intial estimte only. I can only assume it will be higher when they take the car apart. THe main damage is to the raditor mount and ofrouce there was damage to the front wheel control arms extra (black fluids was leaking in the RIMs etC). So yeah I don't know. if the car can be up and running mechanically the same way as before without safety issues i'd want it back. Do they sell repalcement body panels still for the s2k? like door and quarter panels etc. just like they do bumpers...?

BTW insurance called and they wanted to settle a bodly injrury claim with my wife? I don't know how I feel about that, on the one hand I want to make sure there are no parmenent injuries from her hitting her head. On the other i worry that any further claims would mess up my record further... The person said my wife has up to 2 years to make up her mind but obviously she wanted to offer incentives to settle early. I'll have to get some legal advice about that. I think I'll wait to see if she starts to feel better. If so I might just have her decline any money they are offering.

Don't change insurance if you have an upcoming claim. Just see what happens.
Don't rush to settle on a injury claim.
If it looks like they will total it then at that time work on getting a fair payout.
If they will fix it then take it somewhere you trust to have the work done.
If they drop you afterwards then shop for new insurance at that time.

All season tires suck. Cheap all season tires REALLY suck. A light rear drive vehicle like the S2000 needs good tires.
Looks like that road was straight - how'd you lose control?

I don't agree. Some all season tires are excellent tires imo.

Good points!

DWS06 are some of the better all seasons out there. I swap them with my super ports in the winter months for the colder below 40 temp rather than the snow. I don't drive in the car in snow, because regardless of how good my tires are the other idiots are mostly running bald tires. I lost control due to the corner that you don't see in the picture on the opposite side. The car fish tailed and complete rotated to the opposite side of the road (it was a slow speed merge) but the road had slat on it and the surface and camber changes in the slop and me chaning gears mid corner probably dind't help with the weight transfer.

As far as the injury claim - I will see if my wife is feeling all better after a week. If she is no reason adding more blemishes to my record for personal injury claim for a small amount of settlement money.

If she has injuries then she may need medical attention down the road. I pulled my back shoveling on monday and have been limping around all week. You'd be surprised how some injuries creep up on you. Don't rush it.
I'm not a fan of all season tires - I know some are better than others... Sorry this happened - accidents happen. Just follow the insurance process and see how it plays out.

This is in no means a method to kick you while you're down but....

Cars don't lose control of themselves. Thousands of cars pass through that curve every day and DON'T crash....as long as they aren't driving a *certain* way.

You were cautious enough to buy all seasons...but that doesn't allow a greater factor of safety for driving agressively. You would have been better off using your MPSS's and just slowing down. The performance of all seasons isn't as good as a MPSS. So...either way...you should have been slowing down from the speeds you're used to in the summer. Know what I mean? I think you used caution in the wrong places.

I'm only saying these things because its probably best for you to stop talking about it/be cautious what you reveal on a public forum instead of trying to be overly cautious in predicting your insurance company's decision.

Just wait and see what happens. No point in guessing about your insurance.

I say wait it out because most likely they will keep you til your renewal. Sometimes the tickets go under the radar and they don’t catch it unless they do an abstract review. As for these two claims, I would either have the car fixed if not seriously damaged or have it totaled out and get your money back. Either save it and in the future purchase another s2k or buy another and be more careful. I currently am on Potenza re71r’s and I love to take corners at a good speed cause they can handle it. These cars aren’t forgiving so have to make good judgment. Gl on whatever you do. When i had two accidents when I was 22 and one comprehensive claim, I was dropped from State Farm and I was paying 375 a month for liability lol. I hope this isn’t your case. Wish you the best

I say wait it, out don't switch companies. Also the car doesn't look totaled from the few pics you posted. And have your wife goto the dr or you for that matter, better to be safe then sorry later if you get stuck paying for injurys yourself later. Also you will get a better payout for pain and suffering most likely as well.

They're not going to drop you because of the car damage. They're going to drop you because you're pursuing a (difficult to prove) injury claim on a mild single car accident that was your fault.
