next gen S2k
The s2k is coming up on 7 years in production and unless this car is the next nsx, it wont survive in the market much longer. So I pose the question, what should honda do with the next S2k to re-ignite the stir this car caused when it was first launched?
My idea... hybrid. First of all NO ONE is doing an exciting hybrid. Even the Lexus ones are just big sedans with more power. Immagine ditching the spare tire and replacing that area with battery. Then pairing a motor out of the civic hybrid with the F22C. You now have something truely unique which fits in with Hondas green image and provides added driving excitement over the current S.
Ther is also the option of just going turbo with the new RDX engine and adding minor chassis tweaks. with the NSX gone that engine could probably be tuned into the 280 hp range stock without canibalizing sales, especially filling a niche if the next NSX goes to 400hp.
or they could just put in a better stock radio.. that'd be fine by me too.

Well there won't be another S2K ever. But for the next Honda sports car I would like to see slightly more interior room, slightly more aggressive lines, high revving v6 with over 300hp, price tag near 40k. no hybrid for me

How about this guys????
Honda Beat
Bring back the NXS mini-me, redesigned with new lines and a heftier motor!!!
This will be a SICK replacement once the S2000 goes!!! Imagine the possibilities with a simple engine upgrade!?!?!?! A little something to compete with the Lotus Elise/Exige, MRS's, MR2's, etc.

Here's my idea of a perfect replacement for the S2000 (I know, I know, everyone has one).
Replace the engine with an I-5. If they used the same stroke as the F20C, it could rev to 9000 RPM's, so everyone would be happy with that again. Then, with the extra displacement and i-VTEC, it'd have great low-end power.
The best part is, if it was as efficient (meaning, power per liter) as the F20C, it'd make 300hp even (given that one extra cylinder would make it 1.25 the displacement of its I-4 counterpart, so it'd be a 2.5L). That'd put it back ahead of it's competition just as it was when it came out
Maybe redesign the exterior a bit as well, and it'd be an awesome car.

Come on peeps, you guys are telling me you would want to see a nice MR set up to replace the S2000 when it stops production? It only makes sense because the S has historic meaning and has always been a FR. By Honda releasing a new FR, it would undoubtedly have to be an "S"
