I would hate to see Honda go Turbo...
They are such a great engine builder, why should they admit that kind of engineering defeat?

because simply put, it is very difficult to keep up with the other automakers who are boosting. Going NA would mean that engines will need to have their displacements raised significantly to even keep up with the others who are boosting even the 4 bangers. Bigger engines = more weight, efficiency, balance, overall dynamics of the car pretty much goes to shit. The horsepower war isnt going to stop anytime soon and even though Honda is one of the greatest engine builders, it's getting tough.

Well there won't be another S2K ever. But for the next Honda sports car I would like to see slightly more interior room, slightly more aggressive lines, high revving v6 with over 300hp, price tag near 40k. no hybrid for me

The fact is, we have the original, most desirable s2000s.

I say in 30 years people will look back and say "Honda designed a great car when they made the s2000, but it took two years to work out all the kinks." I believe the 2002-2003s will be the most sought after in the future.

That said, I'd love to see a complete redesign in the next few years, something with more power, possibly more cylinders. Just keep the revving high! To date I have yet to see another 4 cylinder engine that impresses me the way that the 6 year old f20 does.

When the Beat first came out in Japan, I've always wanted one.

History repeats itself and I will say that Honda will not do anything to S2000 and then kill it after a few more years.

S2000 is one of those cars that you don't keep re-inventing. YOu let it run for a few years then after 30 years it becomes a collector's item.

Sure everyone is boosting the crap out of their cars, but everything is becoming more and more bloated with extra creature comforts to feed the fatty American way of life.

A re-designed and new Beat I'm sure would impress the masses as a MR competitor!

For all the enthusiaists in here, I'm surprised that not many are up for the idea of re-designing, and re-releasing the Beat! Especially when the S2000 stops production!!!!

Yep, Honda has a very good track record at not doing a damn thing with their sports cars. Take a look at the NSX. Only thing they care about is the accord and civic, cheap vanilla cars. Honda isn't a sports car company, get over it. The s2k will suffer the same fate like the NSX, its going into its 8th year without any changes . Expect a long production run till the "NSX" comes out
