I dont know why people are so hung up on wanting Honda to stop production of the S. I hope they make millions of them. Frankly, i dont care if there is one on every corner. It will take nothing away from my car's looks, or they way it drives. All it does is makes parts cheaper and more abundant. Besides, its a roadster, 90 % of people will never own one . Poor souls

I don't ever think you will see an s2000 around every corner, Mustangs base price starts at about 19k give and take. Most of the stangs I see aroung are just that..the base price models..rare to see a cobra..being that the base price for s2000 is mid to low thirties I don't think everybody is out to get one especially being a two seater.

I could be wrong

I honestly don't believe Honda will ever give this car a major facelift (or much stronger engine for that matter). This car was created to celebrate Honda's 50th Anniversary. The most believable story I've heard (and this was from way-back-when in the time frame when it was announced the car, formerly know as the SSM and then SSX, would actually be produced) is that Honda will make the S2000, in it's current form with only minor changes, until the car is no longer popular (aka -- not selling well) then it will be discontinued for good. This car was never meant to be a permanent addition to the Honda lineup therefore won't undergo a major re-design every 4-5 years like most normal Hondas.

Check out the past history of the Honda S-Series, and if the S2000 follows it
