The NSX is a much more expensive car with limited yearly production. Subsequently engineering, manufacturing, etc costs are considerable different than that of the S2000. Taking into consideration that this 10 year old car still holds it's own against it's much younger competition why would Honda jump to move on the next gen version.

The S2000 on the other hand has the competition climbing all over it, trying to be better at a lower cost (granted few, if any have succeeded).

Anyway, just ranting I guess.

My 2 cents.
Didn't NSX did a engine upgrade back in 97?? I remember first gen NSX did 0-60 near
6 seconds...
And yes, competitions are climbing fast... at this rate... S2000 should be obsolete in a few
more years?? (on pure hp vs weight vs dollar... lets not consider it's a convertible
etc etc for a second)

Heh. I live in Northeastern VA too... I must say, I probably see at least 3 to 4 S2Ks a day. It doesn't really bother me as much as I thought it might though. I think it's kind of cool. You give the nod or the wave or even the ever popular quick beep. It's all good. Just shows that there are more people in our area that have decent money and know how to spend it!

I asked why Honda would discontinue a car that's selling so well, he said Honda is only producing the S2000 to show off what they can do. I know we've heard this before but any truth to it this time?
Don't believe anything from Ed Napleton Honda! That dealership is only 5 minutes from my house yet I've never bought any Hondas from them -- and there is a good reason for that. They are the biggest price-gouging Honda dealership in the area. They were asking 10k over MSRP for the S2000 when they first came out. Even one year later they still wanted 5-8k, depending on who you talked to, over MSRP (and I got mine for MSRP from another dealership in St. Louis during the same time frame). A co-worker was shopping for the Honda mini-van and had similar complaints about that Napleton dealership. So basically I am 100% confident salesmen at that dealership don't don't sh!t, and they are just telling you lies. In fact, I've never found out anything truthful from a local Honda dealership before reading it here or at www.vtec.net !!

Not F20C, but F12X. 1235 cc, 165 HP, intercooled turbo pushing 13 psi. F20C with 13 psi, LOOKOUT!!
