Next Generation Honda S2000

The NSX is a much more expensive car with limited yearly production. Subsequently engineering, manufacturing, etc costs are considerable different than that of the S2000. Taking into consideration that this 10 year old car still holds it's own against it's much younger competition why would Honda jump to move on the next gen version.
The S2000 on the other hand has the competition climbing all over it, trying to be better at a lower cost (granted few, if any have succeeded).
Anyway, just ranting I guess.
My 2 cents.

6 seconds...
And yes, competitions are climbing fast... at this rate... S2000 should be obsolete in a few
more years?? (on pure hp vs weight vs dollar... lets not consider it's a convertible
etc etc for a second)
Heh. I live in Northeastern VA too... I must say, I probably see at least 3 to 4 S2Ks a day. It doesn't really bother me as much as I thought it might though. I think it's kind of cool. You give the nod or the wave or even the ever popular quick beep. It's all good. Just shows that there are more people in our area that have decent money and know how to spend it!

One of the sale person jumped in our conversation to mention that 2004 will "definately" be the last year Honda will produce the S2000. I asked why Honda would discontinue a car that's selling so well, he said Honda is only producing the S2000 to show off what they can do. I know we've heard this before but any truth to it this time?
