Next "generation" S2000
I cant see Honda changing this car very much. Its niche is its cost. For you get
the price is unbeatable. To make any big changes the price would most certainly
have to go up and IMHO this would go against Honda's formula for this car.
I personly think 06 is probably the last year.

Many people always asked for more power and nowadays I think it has become more than obvious that the S2000 laks a bit of power compared to todays "new toys" like the Evo, 350Z, Impreza etc.
The only current car in the same category that is arguably ahead of the S2000 is the brand new Boxter S. You can add the M roadster if and when BMW actually comes out with it. But then, the 2000 M roadster was ahead of the S2000 when the S2000 was brand new, so it isn't a "nowadays" issue, is it?
That said, if the Honda guys decide they can let the current 2.2 liter engine rev to 8800 or so, that would help close the gap with the Boxster S. If they wanted to release a premium model with carbon fiber body panels to reduce weight, I wouldn't object to that, either. If I were Honda, though, I'd be looking to update the NSX first, though.
You must be kidding. Test after test shows that the current S2000 is better than the 350Z in virtually every performance category, and it generally wins the nonperformance categories as well. The Evo and Sti are better only in low speed acceleration where AWD counts for a lot, and adding a few hundred pounds to give the S2000 AWD would be foolish.
Oh man... After 2006-2007, the Acura RSX "integra" seriies. The Honda Civic Si aka EP3 or out of the states the CTR version is available. Honda's S2000, their flagship NSX with no upcoming replacement. Honda is bascially dropping all their entire "sports" oriented cars to concentrate on making money in other fields. Such as focusing on pick up trucks, and soccer mom minivans. Im going to pick up my brand new S2000 asap before all this carnage happens. And Honda does officially slaughter off it's entire line of sports cars.

But they're selling more than the S2000, which is the core issue in the first place. Honda is not stopping production of the S2000 because of competition or niche-market status, Honda's nixing it because it is not selling, plain and simple.
