No roadside assistance - What's up with that!?!
My $8,000 Chevy Geo Metro came standard with it, my $15,000 Ford Focus came standard with it, my Chrysler Mini Van came standard with it, the Mitsubishi Eclipse I was looking at came standard with it...what's up with a $33000 Honda not including it? I thought the saleman was joking when se said, "No, there's no roadside assistance with the warranty".
Anyone else as surprised as me over this?

second, my dealership gave me roadside....
In The Netherlands we get roadside assistance, it's even quite elaborate. We get replacement cars if the S2000 is immobile, this warranty is for all Europe (exceptions are Northern Ireland & Yugoslavia)

Remember, no one ever posts "wow, my car started again today". The nature of the forum is for problem solving, thus problem posts.
I've never had a honda leave me on the side of the road that wasn't due to my own fault, I don't expect this car to be any different.
Oh and if roadside will make you feel better, you can get extended warranty... or buy another chevy metro.

I have the extended warranty, so I have roadside assistance. Since you didn't get the extended warranty, and the dealer didn't throw in the benefit of roadside assistance, getting AAA would be good in your case.

I appreciate the input, but I know you can "purchase" roadside assistance in quite a variety of ways; extended warranty is one, AAA is another. My point was not that I am unaware of how to purchase it as an extra, I am just astonished that it is not covered or the length of the factory warranty.
And, it has nothing to do with not being confident in a Honda's reliability, it has to do with being cautious about what can happen at midnight on the DC beltway, even if you don't expect it to.
I guess I could buy another Metro for roadside assistance, or I could buy BMW, because, like the lowly Metro, they include it free for the duration for the factory warranty.
I love my S2000, but it is still odd to me that for the money and relative to the competition, they do not include roadside assistance.

To be honest, I think honda feel like they don't need that as part of it because people won't worry too much about that. I got one from my dealership, it's their own roadside. I did get extended so I have that too. Then there's also AAA.
I think even at $32k, the S2K is pretty inexpensive for what it is. As for the comp., the cars that stook is in competition with are premium brands... I mean if the s2000 were badged as an Acura, it would have had road side. I guess as a whole, Honda doesn't offer road side for any cars... it's just their policy.
But yes, it's definately a good insurance policy.

I would have to agree with pcovers Almost every other car manufacture has a road side assistance going. Why doesn't Honda. There shouldn't be a need to go out and bye something extra. Things like a flat tire can not be avoided, even in a S2000. I did get the dealer to through in the extended warranty (free) for this very reason.
