Well as previously stated, CR's come with the tape. At least mine did.

Now I'm debating whether or not I want to take it off. I think they put it on the CR's to match the black HT. But... I'm curious how it would look with the tape off.

So I drove by a local dealership last night and saw 2 08s and noticed neither had the black windshield tape that s2000's have normally came with in pervious years. Now I'm sitting at the office looking at pics on Hondas site and most of the cars on the site also have the body colored winshield line no windsheild tape.

Another possible change for 08?
My 08 came without the tape.

IMO the tape removed looks very good when the HT matches the body color.

Iv'e read here before that Berninas of any MY never came with the tape.

from what ive heard, all s2000`s have the black tape unless your original color is berlina black.

I think it looks pretty cool. That being said, I'm keeping my tape on. And my AP2V2 rims. =P

But everyone's got different preferences; just another one of the 08 eccentricities that separate it imo.

In the past that's been true, but things appear to have changed with the 08 models.

I think the tape is part of all the packaging that comes with the car from the factory. Honda prolly never meant for it to be kept on. They usually go through and pull all the "tape" off the cars once it comes off the truck so I bet some dealers just took that out as well.

We are really making this a bigger deal than it is IMO.

Like a Laguna with the tape removed, bit a little lighter.

Maybe, but I think it's to make the 08 stick out more stock. If you check out the 06 s2000 brochure, all the cars have the tape still on/ black a pillar, whereas the 08's all show their true colors.

Not true. The service manual has a page describing how to replace the tape if necessary. It wouldn't be there if the tape was just packaging material.
