Default noise from the door. what's that?

I recently notice that my car's passenger side door makes a rattling noise. This happens every time I ride on my car for about an hour drive. Then I can hear that kind of noise from 7000-9000 rpm. Don't know why? Before, I think it is because the hardtop, but yesterday, I took off the hardtop and drive with the top down for an hour. after I close the top and then I still can here that kind of noise.

anyone has any idea?

could it be the passenger seat belt buckle? try putting the drivers side seat belt on and see if the noise goes away.

do a search on this - there was talk a couple of months ago about a clip that can fall off inside your door and make noise - happened to a few of us, including myself.

Also have a '02 and "the noise". I thought it was the passenger airbag, but passengers insist it's down to the right of them. I also only here it after a few miles of driving. Current theory I'm working on is the door is barely touching the dash, as it "kinda" sounds like a plastic or leather on plastic or leather sound. I'm gonna put a sheet of foam-rubber betten the door and dash (when it stops raining and I can drive it again!) and see if "the noise" goes away. I donno, I'm a male, so noises like this drive me up the wall. My wife can't even locate the direction of the noise half the time.

the seat belt buckle sounds just like a door rattle.

Same problem, but I notice it with the top down. I thought it was the seat belt, but wasn't it.

Well, I final got to drive it Saturday for about 3 hours. I stuffed a wad of soft foamrubber between the door and dash. It still rattles. Personally, I think the rattle is someplace ahead of the passenger airbag. I gotta get a male passenger to ride with me for awhile.

If you do take it in, let us know what they say. When I take it for the first oil change I will complain about it, but that won't be for awile. Let us know if you DO take it in, tell us what they say.
