Is this normal?
The rattle is reduced but not eliminated with TSB54 or the 01's. The rattle also happens on acceleration around 7500-9000 rpm as well as on deceleration around 4000 rpm.
In watching some Japanese videos of early S2000's that sounds appeared in those cars as well. My theory is that the engineers designed the sound in to mimick the chain drive of the original S600 from the 60's.

Slightly modified clutch components that are supposed to have a different resonant freq. However, since it does not eliminate the problem, I would suggest just living with the sound till something actually breaks.
Yes, the rattle/clank/buzz does get louder with time. In my previous 00 S2000, it got quite loud and noticeable at 8000 miles. When it first started, I would only hear it with the top up, eventually, I heard it with the top down as well, then with the top down and music on with high road/ambient noise!
But, it is claimed to be a normal condition.

BLADES2K:
I got the same sounds in all gears when decellerating from 4.5K rpm, or even at 3K rpm. I got this sound/noise all the time, it's a medium pitch/ grinning or ringing noise. It's irritating when driving home on a late quiet night. Should i bring my car to the dealer? or this is something that we have to deal with.
