Hi, I've been lurking these boards for years, learned very valuable information while visiting. Finally got an opportunity to buy my favorite car of all time, a MY05 Silverstone Red/Black.

The other day I noticed a gap above the license plate area and it is very noticable to me. I'm not sure if this is normal for the s2k or not? It looks as though there is a piece missing, but I may be wrong. Any insight? Thanks in advance for any help.

 

It's normal. My '05 is identical. You can only see it if you're below the bumper. The only people who can see it are those you run over.

s2k's are put together by hand, this may be a myth, but it'd explain why s2k's have these "features" :-P

 

That would imply there's supposed to be a part there and somebody forgot to put it in. But no, it's by design - every S2000 has that open area.

 

MY02 is the same.

My '02 rsx also has a this opening above the rear license plate, must be a Honda design trademark

 

My 03 RSX-S had the same hole above the plate. I always wondered too but never asked anyone on clubrsx =P
