Default Is this normal?

Hi, I've been lurking these boards for years, learned very valuable information while visiting. Finally got an opportunity to buy my favorite car of all time, a MY05 Silverstone Red/Black.

The other day I noticed a gap above the license plate area and it is very noticable to me. I'm not sure if this is normal for the s2k or not? It looks as though there is a piece missing, but I may be wrong. Any insight? Thanks in advance for any help.

I posted this a few years ago. I hypothesized that the "hole" is to let out the wind/air that gets trapped in the bumper.
